Seeing how various ethnic groups are thrown into inevitably hostile environments due to the manifestation of fear. This fear is developed and strengthened through the actions and inaction of governments during mass atrocities. The establishment of distrust in governments to protect their constituents is the weakened link that breaks the chain. Creating the basis and stronghold of nationalist movements with hopes of these radical movements protecting these constituent's rights. While there are other important and impactful nationalist movements involved these are the focus on this analysis.
Founded by Bakir Izetbegovic in 1990
Comprised of those who resided in Bosnia and were Bosniaks or Bosnians who practice Islam: Bosnian Muslims . This is a conservative political party in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their aim is in protecting Muslims across the Former Yugoslavia and further into the Balkan Region (1997).
These individuals identified with those victims and survivors of the Bosnian Genocide.
Founded by Radovan Karadžić in 1990
Those involved with the SDS were that of Serbian descent.
An individual who had impacts on the SDS and Serbians during the Bosnian Genocide was, Dobrica Cosić (1995-2014). Cosić participated in many ways to the support of Karadžić's agenda.
Founded by Adem Jashari and others in 1993
This group is comprised of ethnic Albanians which reside in Kosovo. These Albanians aimed to succeed from Serbia and Yugoslavia in establishing a republic (2024).
