Ethnic Albanians having the majority of the population in Kosovo helps in understanding their agency as a movement. The way Kosovo slowly shifted cultures from Serbian to Albanian show us how ethnic Albanian's agency was initially weak and grew stronger through the increase in population over Kosovo (2024). The financial support for the KLA grew from Albania over the course of a few years (2024). Overall increasing their ability to incite change in the ways they wish to.
The goal of the KLA lied in the attainment of Kosovo as a Republic from Serbia during the tensions that had been building for numerous years. By 1996, the KLA was partaking in coordinated attacks on Serbian police stations wounding many officers (2024). Later, in 1997, the KLA spoke out at a funeral of an Albanian teacher who was killed by police calling for Kosovo to officially be a part of Albania along with the ethnic Albanian minority in Macedonia (2024). This helps in illustrating the agendas of the entirety of the KLA.
