Bicol University's 3rd Year BS Biology Bloc A students proudly present a webinar entitled “𝘼𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜” that will be held on June 22, 2022, Wednesday at 8 AM through Zoom.
Prof. Michael Hinanay
Galapon
Our distinguished guest speaker from Laguna State Polytechnic University Siniloan Campus, Michael Hinanay GalaponL, LPT, a faculty in Laguna State Polytechnic University Sinoloan Campus, Assistant Laboratory Manager, and Science and research Unit Head in CAS-SC. He discussed with us the different methods of animal sampling that will help us choose the right sampling method according for our study.
We understand the enthusiasm of Prof. Galapon in discussing Animal diversity and Sampling as he discussed the importance of Taxonomy, Systematics and Phylogeny. Taxonomy allows us to correctly discover species of animals and in doing so, construct an evolutionary relationship. Systematics determines what properties each taxa share and the biological causes of their differences. Phylogeny then helps us understand how these species evolve and inform conversavation policies which species will be preventent from being extinct. In order to do all these, we must learn first animal sampling in order to have any species to further study at all.
Congratulations, Katrina B. Cabral!
You have successfully completed the webinar entitled, "Animal Sampling" held last June 22, 2022 at Bicol University, College of Science, Legazpi City, Albay via Zoom Meeting. Attached herewith is your Certificate of Participation.
Thank you and we wish you success on your future endeavors. Padayon!
Animal sampling is a long and tedious process that must be carried out with patience, skill, and knowledge in different fields. We need local guides, taxonomic experts, manuals, permits, and so on in order to be allowed to take an animal sample. In the next few months, we will also be conducting a biodiversity survey of animals. We must prepare diligently for this research undertaking.
