Bicol University's 3rd Year BS Biology Bloc A students proudly presented a webinar entitled “𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆” held last June 20, 2022 at 3 pm through Zoom.
Prof. Pritzie S. Segubienze-Rey, MAPA
Our distinguished guest speaker from Bicol University, Prof. Pritzie S. Segubienze-Rey, MAPA is an Administrative Officer V in BU, part-time faculty in JMRD, GAD Coordinator in BUCS, technical member in BU Bids and Awards Commitee for COnsulting Services. She was invited to be with us to discuss the critical role of gender equality. Togther, we learned more about the gender misconceptions, how to create an inclusive gender-diverse workplace and, empower and equip everyone to achieve self-determination and actualization.
Although it is sad, it is true that the world remains unsafe from the uncivilized nature of harassers wherever they may be. Prof. Pritzie was able to discuss with us the conditions, scenarios, and steps to take when something untoward occurs about ourselves be it in the workplace or outside. One that we should always remember is that companies should always have officers whom we can report harassment and that we must ask and know of this information before or during our first day.
Congratulations,KATRINA B. CABRAL !

Most harassment cases concerning gender in workplaces remain undocumented because of "above's" and "below's." This workplace hierarchy and lack of bystander concern allow manipulation and blackmailing to occur amid internships and supposedly professional work. While it has been happening since the dawn of patriarchy, ever since women were tied down to men's expectations, we cannot allow such practices to continue.
