Securly is a device console that allows teachers to have some control over student devices. With Securly, teachers can:
Monitor student Chromebooks
Lock students into sites
Push URLs to students
Broadcast messages to students
Here is what Securly recommends (as of 12/7/22) we do when it says students are offline in your class even though they are actually online. You may check for these yourself or complete a staff tech ticket to arrange a time for a technician to come to your class when you have the impacted student.
Please check the following for the student on their Chromebook:
Check that the Securly Classroom Extension is loaded on the Chrome Browser
Is the Securly Classroom extension showing version 1.20.02? (hover over the extension on the Chromebook with your cursor)
Try resetting the Securly Classroom extension by clicking on the extension in the Chrome Browser.
Power Cycle the Chromebook. (Turn it off and back on, not just close the lid)
Check that the Chromebook listed in the Securly Device Console > Devices > Chrome Devices tab
