i-Ready provides personalized instruction for students in reading and math following a diagnostic assessment. The videos below provide instruction for using i-Ready. Please reach out to me with any questions or to share successful strategies that you've used in implementing i-Ready in your classroom.
A few i-Ready notes and reminders:
Students have 21 days to complete the diagnostic from when they start it (this was previously 28 days due to Covid). i-Ready will show a countdown timer on the Diagnostic Status page when students a running out of time to complete their test. If they do not complete it in that window, students will need to retake it entirely.
Some teachers have noticed a lag between when students complete the work and when it appears in their Instruction tab. So, it may take a day for those results to appear.
i-Ready has a grade-level scaffolding tool that can be used to prepare students who may benefit from additional supports before a lesson. This will allow you to use strategic reading pairings and identify students’ learning needs to plan for grade-level reading instruction.
It can be accessed through Reports > Diagnostic > Class > Grade-Level Scaffolding. Then, choose your class/report group and grade of content. It will look like this preview below and will display the students who fall into each grouping. They key to using this tool is that the additional supports are given before the class is taught this new skill.
Below are several resources that will help you identify if i-Ready has grade-level scaffolding supports for each New Jersey Student Learning Standard.
