1. A student is using the kiosk mode but still gets a message that says "This test assignment requires LinkIt's Test Taker application on school issued Chromebook in Browser Lockdown (Kiosk) Mode..."
Solution: If you get this message, you didn't do anything wrong and there's nothing you can do to fix it for the student. If you have a spare Chromebook, have the student try to take the test on it. But please let the building technician know because they will need to wipe the student's Chromebook to fix the issue. This process only takes about five minutes and then they shouldn't have that issue again.
If this is happening to many students or you cannot wait for the Chromebook to be powerwashed, you can re-assign the test to the student with the lockdown browser off. Use the two guides below to see how to turn the lockdown browser off and how to assign the test to individual students.
2. Students try getting back into a test and they get a little popup at the top of their screen that prevents them from entering the test.
Solution: Go to Online Testing > Monitor Online Test Taking > Select the students with the issue and submit their tests > Select those students again and reopen their tests (you will get a message about their grading and asking if you're sure. Select Yes).
3. Students cannot see your test in the portal.
Solution: It's probably hidden. Go to Online Testing > Review/Grade Online Tests and then scroll down and find your test for that class. Click on the eye icon for that test to make it visible for students.
4. A student launches the wrong test.
Solution: Have them submit the test. Then, email me and the teacher of that test to let us know. The student should then be taken back to the portal where they can launch your test.
5. Students cannot move through the test. They receive an error message when trying to advance to the next question or a question doesn't load.
Solution: In the Monitor Online Test Taking window, submit their test and reopen it. Have the student log back into their test.
6. A student cannot sign into Google because it keeps saying their password is wrong.
Solution: They are probably trying to sign in with an @gmail.com email address. Check that it is their @bhpsnj.org account.
7. A student is randomly kicked out of the test.
Solution: Submit their test in the Monitor Online Test Taking window and then reopen it. This may be happening because the student swiped left with two fingers while in the test.
8. Another student is signed into LinkIt on a student's Chromebook. You cannot sign the original person back in.
Solution: When using the LinkIt testing app, once a student signs in, they cannot actually sign out. There is a button to sign out and if you click it, you will receive the false hope that the student has been signed out. But if you click the "Sign in with Google" button, it will sign that same student back in. So, please let your building technician know if this happens and they will need to powerwash the Chromebook. Then, the owner of the Chromebook will be able to sign in to LinkIt.
9. You are trying to view student results but you get a message that says "No records available" or it seems like records are missing.
Solution: In the Explorer, open the side-panel and in the Actions dropdown, choose "Show Students with Incomplete Data."
10. A student test is stuck on the "loading session" window.
Solution: Press Alt + r + volume up on the student's Chromebook. This will quit LinkIt. Then, submit their test and reopen it and have the student log back into their test.
