Strengths Explorer Analysis
Start setting goals and consciously work on words of affirmation, create an “open mindset” and reflect on how you want to be perceived in your circles.
Listed below are a few book which can further your understanding of goal setting concepts and building a growth mindset. As you read and learn more, realize that majority of these concepts take root in Islam – challenge yourself to make connections between Islam and these new concepts you come across. For example, thinking about our body language/voice for expression, many speech coaches teach a variety of jaw exercises and techniques to warm up for speeches but SubhanAllah a recitation of an Ayah, Surah or Dua of Prophet Musa gives us the same level, if not more, of practice and confidence. For example, our vocals and mouth organs are forced to get an exercise and practice isolating our breath from chest to abdomen. Just the recitation of our morning and evening adhkar flexes the mouth muscles in ways that can lead us to being excellent orators! Hence, make it a habit to find your little gems and miracles of the Quran and Islam in your life's journey and learnings, InshaAllah.

Questions and Answers:
Many Colleges are moving away from SAT/ACT tests. For colleges which now say it is optional, would it be better to send in scores, even if they are low? The SAT/ACT is worth studying for, as mentioned, with serious prep work scores can be increased by 100-200 points. Test prep can help boost the score in which case yes send in the scores when the College makes it an option. However, if your score is low then avoid sending it in. However, continue studying and bring up your score and don’t give up because it is better to have the good score just in case your circumstances or college choice changes.
Some Colleges are saying that the SAT/ACT will be optional is that true? Some Colleges are moving towards the optional requirement whereas others are completely eliminating it from their entrance requirements. As you make a list of colleges you plan on attending, the best thing to do is go to each college’s websites and see what their application requirements are and note them for yourself. Again, even though it is becoming an option for some colleges, it is better to have a good score in case a College catches your interest last minute which may require test scores – it’s always a good idea to be over prepared.
