charity: act of helping others in need
“The unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves. - Helen Keller
Announcements for this Week:
The Christmas Concert is Tuesday, Dec. 16 6:45 PM at BFHS Performing Arts Center. A letter with information went home this weekend- please be sure to check the times and locations of where you should be!
We ask that all students wear a nice outfit- dress shirt and nice pants, dress or skirt (still in dress code- you must have sleeves), a tie, etc. Shoes may be open-toed for the concert, however. Please do not wear holiday headbands or Santa hats as we want all families to be able to see their child!
If you haven't brought in pizza party money or socks for the exchange, please send those in this week if possible!
The cutoff for grades for Q2 will be Wednesday! If your child is missing work, please get that into me by then!
Our Christmas Party is this Friday, Dec. 19 at 11 AM. This is a HALF DAY so please plan appropriately! Winter Break is from Dec. 20-Jan. 5. School resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Have a wonderful holiday season and a blessed new year!

Home Support:
As Winter Break approaches, plan some activities with your child that can continue to help support their learning here at school. Library trips to check out books (that they can use for book logs when they return), math games, science experiments, etc. are great ways your child can have fun but still keep their minds engaged! I'll also be sending home a packet for them to work on like during Fall Break for a special incentive in class!
Virtue Focus: Charity
This week we'll be discussing how we can have a giving spirit during the holiday season! There are lots of ways your family can get involved in this as well such as giving trees, volunteering, donating toys or clothing, etc. Brainstorm with your child about ways they can show charity this week!
