DOMESTIC ABUSE HOTLINE:

During this COVID-19 crisis, domestic abuse is on the rise worldwide. Don't stay silent. The Safe Center of Long Island is a phenomenal resource and organization, offering confidential and cost-free services to victims of child abuse, domestic and dating violence, rape and sexual assault, and human trafficking. Their 24/7 Hotline is 516-542-0404.

Under "normal" circumstances, teenagers often display and express a wide range of emotions and can have a hard time navigating their feelings. In our current Pandemic situation, these feelings and ways of emoting can be exacerbated. The article below offers an interesting and helpful perspective on this, as well as ways that parents and adults in teens' lives can support them during this particularly trying time. It also sheds a positive light on how the Pandemic can result in an increase in teens' resiliency in the future.

Below is a flyer for our Hope for Heroes project which the BHS S.A.D.D., Student Civic, and Spanish Clubs have organized. This is a quick, thoughtful and great opportunity for your children to take a few minutes to show their appreciation for our local hospital heroes and/or to send their well wishes to patients. Please contact Mrs. Glassman with any questions at sglassman@Bethpage.ws. Thank you in advance for your support of this special initiative; we would love to receive as many cards and letters as possible!

We wanted to take the time and thank your children for all of their hard work these past few weeks. These changes are ones that we as adults are navigating for the first time and they are joining us in doing so.

Remember, we are in this together and are here to help. Please feel free to email us with any questions or if you need assistance with any of the links above.

Stay Healthy and Safe.
