Event Rules and Equipment
Team of 4, or Individuals
Participants should NOT wear strong deodorant, perfume/lotion, or have chewing gum. These items can be distractors for the taste and smell senses.
Students should bring a writing utensil, the event host WILL NOT have extra’s.
Students are allowed to bring bottled water and/or palate cleansers.
i.e., apple, bread, apple juice, or soda crackers
Students should bring clipboards and a calculator. Phones are not an acceptable calculator.

Milk Flavor (8-10 samples)
Product ID: Dairy vs. Non-Dairy (8-10 samples)
Cheese Identification (8-10 samples)
Cheese Characterization Problem
Written Exam (30 Questions)
Problem Solving Test (10 Questions)
The National FFA Handbook will be followed for event format, but scoring will be simplified.
Team scores will be calculated using all 4 team members
The Milk Quality & Products contest will take place upstairs in the Home Arts Building at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds.
