GENERAL INFORMATION
Location: Home Arts Bleachers for test first and move to the Food Court Building for remaining
Each Individual Must Bring:
-Clipboard- free of writing
- Simple Calculator
- Warm clothing – We will be in an unheated building for 3 hours, dress accordingly
- #2 Pencils
Contest Will Provide:
- Scratch paper will be provided
- Be prepared to fill out the Meats Evaluation Scantron
EVENT FORMAT
Individual will complete:
25 Question Written Exam
30 Cuts- Retail meat cuts Identification
2-4 Placing classes including a carcass class with questions
Quality & Yield Grading
Teams will complete:
Meats Formulation Problem
Plan on 30 minutes per section, however, we are planning to have retail cut ID and placing classes be self-paced if space will allow.

The building we are in is colder than outside so make sure you have coats and gloves (Official Dress is not warm enough for this contest so please plan accordingly).
The Meats Contest will begin with a written test upstairs in the Home Arts Building. From there, the contest will move to the Fairgrounds Shop to complete the classes and identification.
