Taking the Next Steps: Strategies
In this section, you will find a number of strategies that can be employed to engage student voice in the classroom/small group setting, the broader school building, or even at the district level.

All strategies identified below can be adapted for varying time frames.
As you move to the right of the spectrum, strategies have an increasing level of student agency and efficacy requiring greater risk on behalf of the students and adults. Those facilitating engagement need to be aware of the risk level they are inviting students into and work to create brave spaces for engagement as well as accountability for how adults will partner for on-going support and advocacy.
Most strategies can move towards the “leadership” side of the spectrum if students are engaged in the planning, implementation, and response steps of the identified strategy.
