About Talk Kind
Talk Kind is a Ridge High School initiative built on a simple idea: how we treat each other matters, online and in person. We believe people treat each other better when they feel connected, so much of our work focuses on building that sense of connection across grades, groups, and the wider school community. Our committee of students, teachers, parents, and coaches plans spirit days, school-wide events, and activities throughout the year that give students reasons to talk, laugh, and get to know one another. We choose themes that are easy for everyone to join, and our Class Cup competition lets each grade earn points by showing up, joining in, and recognizing kindness in one another.
Connection is only the starting point. Talk Kind also encourages students to be upstanders rather than bystanders, to speak up when something isn’t right, and to set a positive example for their peers and the younger students who look up to them. Our hope is that the relationships built at a spirit day or a class event carry over into the hallways, the group chats, and beyond, so that kindness becomes part of how Ridge students treat each other every day.
