About Ridge

Ridge High School is a comprehensive, four-year public high school with an enrollment of approximately 1,735 students that prepares its graduates for a wide variety of post-high school opportunities.

Opening in September of 1961 with 21 classrooms for 500 students in grades 9-12, Ridge is accredited by the New Jersey Department of Education and is regularly ranked among the highest performing high schools in the state and across the country. As recently as August 2022, Niche.com ranked Bernards Twp. School District “Best in Somerset County” and gave Ridge High School an A+ rating. In April 2023, U.S. News and World Report named Ridge High School as #23 in New Jersey and ranked Ridge at #515 nationally.

Our dedicated, highly trained instructional staff strives to know each student personally and support their specific needs. Ridge High School maintains an 8:1 student-teacher ratio and 217:1 counselee-counselor ratio.  97 of the 224 instructional staff members hold bachelor degrees, 116 hold master's degrees, and 11 hold doctorates.

Beyond academics, we offer one of the broadest set of athletic (Ridge Red Devils) and co-curricular opportunities. We promote individual wellness (TEA Time) and service to our community (Ridge Gives Back) and have the support of an incredible array of parent and community organizations.
