Presentation and Q&A on College/Career Planning with the RHS Counseling Department. Resources for navigating and planning post-secondary options include 4 year schools, 2 year schools, trade/industry schools and training, career pathways, military service or education, or gap years.

Navigating Resources for Student Success

7:00pm-8:30pm - Ridge High Cafeteria 

Join us to learn how to navigate the Genesis student/parent portal, with technical support available. 

Staff will help parents with logging in and viewing student information in Genesis. Included will also be information about how to navigate the district website to learn about various other supports and resources that are available to help students and families. A recorded presentation will be posted 

online for families who cannot attend in person.

College Fair

Students and parents are welcome to join us for our college fair hosted at Ridge High School for a chance to meet with over 100 college and university admissions representatives. Colleges from across the country will be represented.

Financial Aid Night provides an overview of the financial aid process, grants, scholarships, and loans including how to apply for federal and state financial aid. Electronic copies of materials will be posted to the counseling website.

The Standards Based Report Card

Join us for an overview of the K-5 Standards Based Report Card. This will include an overview of recent updates and a discussion of the way in which the standards based report card provides accurate information about your students’ strengths and weaknesses. A recorded presentation will be posted online for families who cannot attend in person.

Sophomore Parent Presentation: Post-Secondary Planning

All families of current sophomores are encouraged to join us and learn about planning for post-high school pathways, and relevant topics for sophomore year, including navigating Naviance, exploring career options, and planning for standardized testing (SAT/ACT/PSAT). Join the counselors for a Q&A following the presentation. 


February 1

Special Education 8th Grade Parents and Students Academic Planning Night 

6:15pm-6:45pm - Ridge High School Room 402

A General Special Education Information Session from 6:15-6:45 pm in room 402 will focus on questions related to resource room, in class support, and the functional classes at Ridge. Incoming 9th graders will have the opportunity to meet with current RHS students and a high school case manager to have their questions answered as they prepare to transition from middle to high school. We will also have a second session in room 402 at 7:45 pm.  In addition, an information session will also be offered for parents of the students entering the RHS CBAP (Comprehensive Behavior Analytic Program) will be held in Room 721 from 6:15-6:45 pm.

Academic Planning Night for 8th Grade Students

7:00pm-9:00pm - Ridge High School 

On January 25th, the Academic Planning Resources website for 2024-2025 was launched for parents to view. It includes all of the resources for scheduling including videos of many of the night’s sessions. We will be running two programs in order to alleviate crowding and to maximize everyone’s experience in order to get the most out of the evening.
