QPR Suicide Prevention Training 

6:30pm-8:30pm - Virtual

The mission of QPR is to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. In 3 steps anyone can learn to prevent suicide. QPR COVERS How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal; How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide; The common causes of suicidal behavior; The warning signs of suicide; How to get help for someone in crisis. This event is hosted by the Bernards Township Health Department.

Special Services Workshop: Guardianship

Presenter: Stanley Layton (Deputy Surrogate) 

Stan Layton graduated from New York Law School in 1983; worked in private practice until 1995 at which point he accepted the position of Deputy Surrogate in Somerset County where he has remained.

 The presentation is going to be a review of the court process to obtain guardianship of an adult individual, with a focus on parents with students who have recently turned, or will soon turn, 18. We will also cover what happens after a guardianship is granted.
