Anyone who wants to use the BWRC Lab (for research or through the Bringup Class) is required to read through Learning Modules A1: Avoid Damage, A2: No Harm Soldering, and B: Microscopes. Then they must go through the doc, A & B: Practicum Test and get checked off by a Lab Leader or any user who has completed this practicum previously. These are also relevant for the Cory 119 instructional lab for EE142/242, which has similar equipment and microscopes. The practicum is to demonstrate the most basic skills that will help prevent equipment breakage in the future. All subsequent modules beyond A & B are optional. Those optional modules are intended to be a general resource for any students in the department.
On Fri. 9/1/23, we had the first BWRC Demo Day workshop - on how to measure rise-times of high-speed digital signals in modern process technologies, using different types of oscilloscopes, probes and terminations ... i.e. how to measure things the right way and also the wrong way. The material from that workshop is posted as Learning Module F below. More modules will get added in the future. Anyone is welcome to post a module.
