3D Filament Joiner
Overview:
Our project combines different colors of 3-D printing filament together.
Description:
Our project has 3 main parts: heating, sensing, and power management. First, we heat a nichrome wire to bring the filament to glass transition temperature (the temperature needed to warp the plastic and fuse it together. We monitor the temperature using a thermistor to ensure that the wire doesn't get too hot. We also have power management circuits in place to safely charge our 3.7v battery from a 5v input, and reduces it to 3.3 for the ESP to run, and boosts it to 5v for the heating circuit.
