Advanced Polling & Quizzing Available with Zoom updates
April 2022 (Zoom Client 5.10.4 or higher):
Polls/Quiz Library lets users create and edit a central library of polls for meetings and webinars, including Personal Meeting ID (PMI) and non-PMI meetings
When a poll is marked as available to all meetings, it will appear in the list of polls that can be launched in a meeting.
This new central repository will not replace the existing "Personal Meeting (PMI) polls", instead polls created here will only appear in PMI meetings.
November 2021 (Zoom Client 5.8.3 or higher):
Advanced polls allow for matching, ranked order, short answer, and long answer questions.
You can also set correct answers to have the poll function as a quiz.
Click here for guidelines on how to enable and use advanced polling.
Basic polling features will still work with previous versions, but users below version 5.8.3 will not be able to view or participate in advanced polls.
Tips
Be sure to switch on/enable both polls and surveys in your Zoom In Meeting browser settings if you plan to utilize these features (image below).
Set up and test your polls before your meetings in a Zoom practice session. We recommend a day in advance so you have time to troubleshoot before class.
The (original vs. re-assigned) meeting host can also create a poll by clicking "Polling" during a meeting. This will open up your default web browser where you can add additional polls or questions. This is useful if you want your questions to reflect the discussion students have in real time.
In their browser settings, the meeting creator can assign an alternative host to add or edit polls. This setting must be toggled on in your browser settings.
Polls are best suited for getting responses during a meeting; if you'd like to collect participants' feedback after a meeting, consider using Zoom surveys.
Note that Zoom's post-meeting surveys are different than end-of-meeting experience feedback surveys. Surveys may include scale-based rating and text response options. Example of post-meeting survey below:

You can access 2 types of reports in your Zoom account.
Usage: This report allows you to view a list of meetings, participants, and meeting minutes for meetings you have hosted.
Meeting: This report allows you to search for meeting registrations and Poll responses from specific meetings.
Select the type of report you need, search by a date range to find the meeting, and then choose to Generate for the report.
To access these log into your Zoom account through your web browser.
Once logged in, you will need to click on “Reports”, at the bottom of the menu on the left hand side. [See screen shot below]
To view the stats for a past meeting choose “Usage”.
Make sure you adjust the time frame at the top to choose when the meeting occurred. This will bring up a list of past meetings, click on the blue number under “participants” to bring up a pop-up of the attendee list, duration in the meeting and other information.
You can export this file if needed using the blue “Export” button.
Limitations (Polling)
Only the original meeting host can edit or add polls during a meeting unless another user has been given account scheduling privileges.
If the host or co-host role is transferred to another user, that user will only be able to launch polls already created.
If students are not seeing polls, they may need to allow pop-ups in their web browser application settings.
An alternative host cannot add or edit polls unless they click the setting to allow alternative hosts to add or edit polls (Zoom v. 5.8.0 or higher). These edits also must be done in your browser settings or in-meeting; they cannot be done when creating or editing a meeting in the Zoom application.
Limitations (Reports)
If registration was turned on and the poll was not anonymous, it will list the participants' names and email addresses
If registration was not on, it will show the results, but list the users as "Guest"
If the poll was anonymous, it will show "anonymous" for the participants' names and email addresses
