Online Safety
Our Commitment to Online Safety
We teach our children how to stay safe online through our computing curriculum, PSHE lessons, and whole-school assemblies. Pupils learn about:
Keeping personal information private
Being kind and respectful online
Recognising unsafe or inappropriate content
What to do if they feel worried or unsure about something online
Online safety is also a key part of our safeguarding procedures, and staff receive regular training to stay up to date with current guidance and best practices.
Helping Children Stay Safe at Home
Online safety is a shared responsibility. We work in partnership with parents and carers to help children develop good digital habits. You can support your child by:
Talking regularly about what they do online
Setting clear rules for screen time and device use
Using parental controls on devices and apps
Encouraging your child to tell you if something doesn’t feel right
We recommend the following websites for up-to-date advice and guidance:
What To Do If You’re Worried
If you have any concerns about your child’s online activity or safety, please don’t hesitate to contact the school. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is the headteacher, Mr Philp, and our Deputy Safeguarding Leads are the Deputy Head Mrs Halliwell and Senior Mental health Lead Mrs Bartlett.
We are always here to help.
