Arts Media and Entertainment (AME) Industry Sector - Design, Visual, and Media Arts Pathway
The Design, Visual, and Media Arts pathway includes those occupations that use visual art, digital media, and Web-based tools and materials as the primary means of communication and expression. In addition to an understanding of current workplace practice, this career pathway requires the development of knowledge and skills in both visual art concepts as well as new and emerging digital processes by which individuals are able to create and communicate complex concepts in a broad range of occupations and professions.
Sample occupations associated with this pathway: Digital Animator, Artistic Director, Commercial Artist, Web Designer, Museum Curator
DIGITAL MEDIA CTE – DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY & IMAGING
This introductory course will the fundamentals of digital photography and photo editing. Using industry-standard equipment and techniques students will learn how to produce portrait and product photography from photoshoot toimage editing. Career-specific skills will also be emphasized and prepare students for a career in digital photography.
This course is in an articulation with Diablo Valley College (DVC) where students upon successful completion of thiscourse may receive college credit transferable to CSU/UC. Meets the “f” fine arts UC electives admissions requirement.
Grades: 9, 10, 11, 12 Year UC/CSU - f Earn College Credit
ADVANCED DIGITAL MEDIA CTE – AUDIO ENGINEERING & VIDEOGRAPHY
Prerequisite: Digital Media CTE
In this advanced course, students will learn the fundamentals of digital audio engineering, event videography, and non-linear video editing while continuing to build upon the fundamental of digital photography and imaging principles gainedfrom Digital Media. Career-specific skills will also be emphasized and prepare students for a career in audio engineeringand event videography. This course is pending an articulation agreement with Diablo Valley College (DVC) wherestudents upon successful completion of this course may receive college credit transferable to CSU/UC.
Grades: 10, 11, 12 Year UC/CSU – g Earn College Credit
