CTE MARKETING
Prerequisite: Priority given to students who’ve completed Integrated Math 1. Students will learn fundamental concepts of marketing and business. Training includes testing knowledge through entrepreneurial experimentation; hands-on experiences conducting research; analyzing and building marketing strategies; and developing, promoting, advertising and selling viable products and services under the supervision of the instructor. Students will learn essential marketing topics such as custormer value, market segmentation, pricing strategies, marketing information management, product life cycle, sales and customer service, marketing communications, content marketing, and digital media strategies including social media planning.

CTE BUSINESS FOUNDATIONS
Prerequisite: Completion of CTE Marketing with a C or better in both semesters
Through business foundations, students will be introduced to the principles and practices of contemporary business, become fluent in business language and concepts, and will examine the driving forces that determine an organziation’s success or failure. Students will learn the characteristics of succesful business, including the marketing conditions, organizational details, management fundamentals, and financial analysis critical to a company’s success. Topics that will be covered in the course include economic decisions and systems, social responsibility and ethics, forms of business ownership, entrepreneurship, risk management, finance and other important elements of business. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared for further coursework in marketing, accounting, communcations, and management. This course is designed to be integrated with a student store of business club. While not specifically delineated in each individual assingment below, the design, management, expansion, and/or redesign of a fully functioning student-run business is expected to be a part of a students’ work in the course. Each unit presents the opportunity not only to analyze existing businesses or propose new ones, but to apply the same concepts in real-time within a store or club environment.
