Tips regarding Letters of Recommendation
- UC and CSU do not accept letters of recommendation. Please only request one from your counselor and/or teachers if you know the school you're applying to needs one.
- We recommend that students email their counselor and/or teachers before entering their email into an application.
- Students need to complete the Brag Packet in order to get a letter of recommendation. This helps your counselor and/or teachers learn more about you and can aid them in writing a fantastic letter. Not all the questions are mandatory, but answer as many of them as you can.
- Your counselor and teachers can get overwhelmed by requests for letters of recommendation. Make sure to ask them in plenty of time before your deadline and well before any school breaks. At least two weeks notice is ideal.
