Community College
Seniors! All first time, full-time college students in California get their first 2 years of Community College for free! Please fill out your FAFSA to qualify for this program (click here).
Students may also take community college classes for free during high school (called dual enrollment). See below for more information.
Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment is a great way to explore subjects we don't offer at BHS (like a foreign language), take extra credits to look good on a college application or possibly graduate early (talk to your counselor about this before starting). Both Diablo Valley College (DVC) and Solano Community College's (SCC) class schedules are posted on their websites here:
https://www.dvc.edu/communication/schedules-and-catalogs/index.html
https://ssb.solano.edu/PROD/syk_class_finder.p_basic_search
You can browse for a class or classes you're interested in taking. When you're ready, Step #1 is to apply to the college you wish to attend via their website. Following the links above for your chosen school. Just be aware that the application process will start with a CCC (California Community College) application first and then you'll be bumped to the application specific to your community college, be sure to complete both. Once you finish applying, the college should email you within a day or so your college student ID number. Be sure to record this number along with your college log-in information.
Step 2 (after applying) is to complete a "Special Admissions Form". For DVC, you will do this online. Enter your counselor's name and email address and the form will be sent to them for approval. For Solano college, please email your counselor directly for a digital version of the form.
Below are links to each school for more detailed instructions.
