My junior year of high school I decided to start a women's empowerment club. My club's main goal was to provide free menstruation products in all of the bathrooms at the school, but suddenly many other students took interest in my club. So I decided to expand the club, and have monthly meetings dedicated to raising awareness, money, and educating about women empowerment. The club currently has around 40 members, and around 20 come to each monthly meeting. We even hosted a bake sale and ended up raising over $500, and all of that money went to creating care packages for the Akron homeless shelter known as the Haven of Rest. I am very proud of how far I have come with my club, and it has definitely become a major part of my life. The artifact I chose to describe my club was the bake sale sign which took us the most time out of anything to put together. The bakesale took major dedication from myself, and everyone else involved in the club.Â
