This week, Year 5 have been busy developing their narrative writing through their Creature Teacher stories. Inspired by our class novel, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, the children selected a member of staff and created a detailed and imaginative description of how that teacher transformed into a monster, including the reactions of both staff and pupils. They designed and annotated their monsters, carefully planned their ideas, and drafted their first pieces of writing. Following additional input and feedback, the children up-levelled their work, redrafted their stories, and finally published their completed narratives, showing excellent progress and creativity throughout the process.
As part of our Christmas celebrations, the children made Rice Krispie Christmas trees, which they decorated before designing and decorating boxes to take them home in.
A huge thank you to all the parents who attended our ‘Crafternoon’ and supported the children—it was lovely to share such a festive activity together. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and loved singing Christmas songs with you all, even if one of them did last a little longer than expected!
Merry Christmas everybody, we hope you all have an amazing time!
