This week, Year 4 have impressed us with their creativity, teamwork and growing independence across all areas of learning. In PE, the children put their problem-solving skills to the test as they worked in teams to plan and cross a “river” using only limited resources. This was a tricky challenge requiring a lot of patience , perseverance and innovative thought. They certainly had huge fun and learnt so much about the power of effective communication.
During our History Inquiry, we have continued exploring motives for migration, linking our learning to the arrival of the Angles, Jutes and Saxons. The children drew on their knowledge of Roman Britain to understand what life was like once the Romans left. This helped them to recognise the “pull factors” that encouraged Anglo-Saxons to settle in Britain. They also used their Geography Inquiry skills to map the migration routes from the Germanic states to Britain.
Alongside this, Year 4 have been developing their independent creative writing skills, responding to varied images with imagination and confidence. They produced some wonderful pieces and took great pride in sharing their writing with one another. We are so proud of their enthusiasm and growing confidence -well done!
