Year One

This week, Year One have been brilliant mathematicians, deepening their understanding of subtraction. The children have been using practical resources and number lines to explore how taking away works, and they’ve shown great perseverance when solving subtraction problems. We were so impressed with their careful recording and growing confidence in explaining their thinking.

In Art, the children explored emotions through music, listening to a range of pieces and discussing how each one made them feel. They then expressed their reactions through mark making, using different lines and colours to capture the mood of the music. Their creativity and thoughtful reflections were wonderful to see.
