This week, we continued our inquiry into how different environments shape culture, culminating in some fantastic persuasive writing! In Geography and Literacy, we conducted a detailed comparison between England and the Mediterranean region. We explored the distinct physical and human geography features of each area, analyzed climate and weather data, and researched how this impacts farming practices and local foods. The children then used this research to create engaging and informative persuasive leaflets. In Music, we kept the rhythm alive by continuing our exploration of vibrant Latin music and its cultural roots. In PSHE and Computing, we had an important discussion about safety and media literacy. We focused on the ratings systems for games and movies, learning how to interpret the colours and age symbols to determine if content is appropriate for us. We also discussed the vital role of different people and services in keeping us safe and healthy within our community. Finally, in Art, we explored texture and design, working collaboratively to create imaginative texture collages. It has been a thoughtful, creative, and geographically expansive week of learning!
