Lesson 1

INTENT: To be able to research a range of electrical games.

IMPLEMENTATION: Children learnt what market research is and why this is important for companies. To begin their research children were shown videos and photos of some games that are electrical. They then began to consider games they play at home, at school and used ipads to research different types of electrical games. In pairs, the children created a large mind map of the different games they found. We discussed their research to consider any similarities, particular games that were popular and games that were successful. From this the children were able to consider their design criteria for their own project.

IMPACT: Children were able to complete research to inspire them for different electrical games.

Lesson 3

INTENT: I can make a simple circuit.

IMPLEMENTATION: Children practised their focussed skills of building a circuit using wires, battery, bulb/buzzer. Children also took part in looking a how the circuit is complete to make a buzzer sound when the metal touches as it's a conductor. They explored this using a giant buzzer game!

IMPACT: Children were able to make a simple circuit as practise for their final piece. 

Lesson 5

INTENT: I can make a Christmas buzzer game.

IMPLEMENTATION: Children created their Christmas buzzer game by bending wire into a Christmas themed shape and connecting this to a circuit with a buzzer.

IMPACT: Children were able to make a Christmas buzzer game using a complete circuit with a buzzer.

Lesson 2

INTENT: I know that some British foods are seasonal and where food comes from. 

IMPLEMENTATION: Children recapped where difference foods come from. They learnt what seasonal food is and how technology and transport affected food. Children researched foods that are currently in season and created a poster to encourage people to buy and eat seasonally. 

IMPACT: Children were able to understand where food comes from and know that some foods are seasonal.

Lesson 4

INTENT: To be able to make my own healthy snack. 

IMPLEMENTATION: Children created their healthy pizza wraps that were heated on a frying pan. 

IMPACT: Children were able to make a healthy snack.
