Lesson 1
INTENT: To explore a pop artist and their work.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children learnt about what pop art is and about the famous artist Andy Warhol. Children annoted two images of Andy Warhol's work including labels of space, shape, line and colour.
IMPACT: Children were able to make notes about Andy Warhol's work.
Lesson 2
INTENT: To recap the colour wheel and practise a printing technique.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children learnt that pop art was created using a print screening technique. Children used foam boards, rollers and paint to practise a technique of print using a stamp, similar to Andy Warhol.
IMPACT: Children were able to use a stamp and a roller as a technique to create a print.
Lesson 4
INTENT: To create a piece of pop art in the style of Andy Warhol.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children made their own stamps to create a piece of pop art inspired by Andy Warhol.
IMPACT: Children were able to use 2 colours, including with a contrast, to create a piece of print artwork in the style of Andy Warhol.

Lesson 2
INTENT: I understand what proportion is.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children were introduced to the vocabulary word 'proportional' and we discussed the meaning of this. Looking at photographs of sculptures children were able to recognise sculptures in proportion and not in proportion. Children had time to explore the clay considering the different techniques they can use. After, they used the clay to make an Oscars award in proportion - considering the head in proportion to the body and the arms in proportion to the body etc.
IMPACT: Children know the term proportion and were able to practise making a sculpture proportional.
Lesson 4
INTENT: To make a trophy from clay.
IMPLEMENTATION: The children looked back at their plans from their previous lesson to remind themselves of their design and techniques. Using clay, the children made their own trophy. They used a variety of tools for sculpting and focussed on making their trophy in proportion.
IMPACT: The children were able to make a scultpture from clay in proportion.

INTENT: I can understand what contemporary art is and understand who Greyson Perry is.
IMPLEMENTATION: Children learnt what is classed as contemporary art and looked at Greyson Perry's sketches, deciding what they liked and disliked about them. Children then had a chance to try and recreate some of his sketches through experimenting with different media such as pens, pencils, colouring pencils, felt tips etc.
IMPACT: Children were able to understand what contemporary art is and could have a go at recreating techniques using their own creativity.
