To help students stay on track for graduation, Buncombe County Schools provides local Credit Recovery courses for those who did not successfully complete a class during the school year. Enrollment is based on recommendations from School Counselors and Administration, in alignment with Buncombe County School Board Policy and Guidelines.
NCAA INITIAL-ELIGIBILITY CLEARINGHOUSE
While CR courses will be accepted for credit toward graduation they will NOT be accepted by the NCAA Clearinghouse. Students planning to participate in an NCAA sanctioned sport or activity in college, should consider taking the class through the traditional classroom. If you have any additional questions about the NCAA Clearinghouse then you should contact your School Counselor.
The following courses may be available via Credit Recovery:
American History, Economics and Personal Finance, The Founding Principles of the US and NC: Civic Literacy, World History
Earth Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science
English I-IV
Math I-IV
Credit Recovery courses may also available in the spring via Twilight School and during Summer Academy.
REMINDER: To participate in a Distance Learning course, students and parents/guardians must read and sign the Distance Learning Agreement.
