To participate in a Distance Learning course, students and parents/guardians must read and sign the Distance Learning Agreement.
What does Distance Learning look like at Buncombe County Schools?
BCS offers a variety of courses that are taught in partnership with other educational institutions. This allows students to personalize & enhance their educational pathways by adding a diverse selection of credits in all disciplines that can support student learning interests beyond what is offered in a standard classroom setting. Many of these opportunities take place in a computer lab during the school day, using purely online instruction, but there are also opportunities for students to complete courses in a hybrid environment (with a face to face instructor) or beyond the regular school day (through Twilight School, Summer Academy and extra periods).
