In this session, the group will hold an open discussion which will form the basis for a cloud consumption code of conduct - how do we, as customers, want our cloud vendors to behave to ensure that we, as a society, can realise the benefits of cloud technologies?
Cloud spend is increasing yet many organisations are yet to put the necessary management controls in place to control costs and contain risk, while many vendors are forcing customers to accept rigid contracts which act to prevent customers realising the promised benefits of costs which flex up and down in line with consumption.
This interactive workshop will draw together the fields of SAM, Config/Change/Release and DevOps to develop a code of conduct for managing cloud consumption.
So, if an organisation wishes to explore either SaaS, PaaS or IaaS, then there are some independent guidelines to help them manage cost and risk and initiate a constructive conversation with their cloud supplier.
