Here is a reminder about the steps you should be taking in order to be licensed by Summer 2023.
Apply for your Principal/Assistant Principal license on ELAR for all the grade level ranges you would like to be licensed in. You will be endorsed for only the grades that align with your internship but historically some fellows have been able to add another grade span license based on their previous work experience. The link for ELAR is here.
If you have SEI Teacher Endorsement, apply for the SEI Administrator Endorsement on ELAR.
Complete the ELAR Ed Leadership form (found below) to launch your practicum.
Compete the DESE Employment Verification Form (in the folder you all received from BC's presentation in June) AND upload to ELAR. This form needs to be completed to prove that you have worked for three years at any school in any position. Typically, HR Departments complete these forms and can do so relatively quickly. You may need to complete more than one if you haven't worked at a school/district for at least three years.
Register for your MA-PALs. The link to the site is here. Please check in with your LC on your progress towards completing and passing your MA-PALs.
The following steps are for fellows WHO NEED to pass an MTEL or get an SEI endorsement.
6. Complete your administrator SEI Endorsement or pass the SEI MTEL.
7. Schedule and pass the Communication and Literacy MTEL.
In May, your LC will have you and your mentor sign off on your internship completion and then BC will endorse your license. If you have completed steps 1-5, your license will then be granted on DESE's timeline (likely will happen in July 2023).
