"In a case interview, applicants have to solve real-world business problems live with an interviewer. The cases mimic the kinds of scenarios consultants work with daily – most are pulled directly from real-life client experiences.
The case typically consists of a problem or situation faced by an organization (company, NGO, or government agency). Applicants are given the problem verbally, and in a set amount of time must analyze the case, determine what data is needed, ask for the data, compute potential scenarios, and deliver a presentation on that solution." - From Management Consulted's website

Every firm has a slightly different approach, but generally speaking, a candidate-led interview follows the following structure:
Interviewer presents the case prompt.
Candidate clarifies the problem and asks initial questions.
Candidate takes a moment to structure their approach (framework).
Candidate presents their framework.
Candidate analyzes data and answers specific questions from the interviewer.
Candidate provides a final recommendation.
