ACADEMIC COURSES (SPRING 2022)
Career Bridge (UGMG122201) with Drew Barksdale: This course will equip first generation and low income students with the confidence, knowledge and cultural capital to have a successful experience navigating the Carroll School of Management. This course will follow a discussion-based model with class participation being a main emphasis. We will explore themes relevant to first generation and low income students. By the end of the semester, students will gain a working community of peers and confidence in their ability to flourish at Boston College.
Managing Diversity (MGMT213701) with Judith Clair: Students in this course will learn about contemporary empirical and theoretical research on the dynamics of international culture, gender, race, and other special differences in the workplace. They can also increase skills in diagnosing and solving diversity-related conflicts and dilemmas, and develop a capacity to distinguish a monolithic organization from one that treats diversity as a competitive advantage.
EVENTS
Join us for Diversity in Business Program
The Fulton 315 team is excited to launch the Diversity in Business program! DiB is a 6-week educational program catered to minority freshmen who are interested in pursuing a career in Business. We will educate you on various career opportunities that will become available to you over your time at BC.
Starting September 8th at 6:30 PM in the Fulton Honors Library, we will begin to explore exciting industries, meet other fellow minority students interested in Business and enjoy ¡FREE FOOD! at every session. During our time together, we will cover the following industries: Financial Services (sell-side and buy-side), Management Consulting, The Big 4 Accounting & Advisory firms, Sports Apparel and Diversity Training programs. This program is educational with upperclassmen leading panel discussions with industry professionals. As a student, it is your job to show up and learn something new. We will be raffling away Air Pod Pros to a few lucky students who attend so mark your calendars. Carroll School Career Advisor, Drew Barksdale, will be at every session serving as an additional resource.
