Superposition

Where two or more waves pass through each other.

Constructive Interference: When the waves and troughs line up the waves combine which amplifies the sound (making it louder or brighter)

Destructive Interference: When the waves and troughs are opposite of each other they cancel each other out (making it softer or making there be no sound or no light)
