Junior year is almost over. Take a few simple steps this summer to get ready for senior year.
Look into college and career training paths. Now is the time to think about education beyond high school. Consider career training, two-year or four-year colleges, or military service. You have options!
Know where you can use financial aid. Choose from about 60 participating institutions in Washington. Financial aid can help you pursue a certificate, degree, or even approved apprenticeships!
Learn about WA Grant and other financial aid. Washington's generous state financial aid programs can help pay for many types of college or training.
Prepare to apply for state & federal financial aid:
Applications will be available in October. Get started now by creating an account on studentaid.gov to access the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Your parents will need their own account, too.
Not applying for federal aid? Look into the WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid).
Sign up for OtterBot. OtterBot is a free, 24/7 financial aid and college planning texting service. It provides personalized assistance, reminders about deadlines, and answers to your financial aid questions. To get started:

Consider dual credit opportunities. Dual credit programs let you get high school and college credit at the same time, saving you time and money. Programs vary by high school, so check with your counselor to learn what options are available to you.
Stay on track for graduation. Make sure you are keeping up with your class's graduation requirements. Talk to your counselor to make sure you know what’s required and how you’re doing.
There’s still time to make a plan for education or training after high school. Explore your options on the Washington Student Achievement Council website.
¿No vas a solicitar ayuda federal?
