Graduation Cap Decoration Guidelines
The requirements for graduation cap decoration were created jointly through the student bodies of Battle Ground Public Schools high schools. Please follow all of these guidelines when decorating your graduation cap. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in the removal of your cap at the ceremony and you will not be able to participate in the ceremony.
Caps may not contain any advertisement, symbols, abbreviations, words, slogans, patches or pictures that refer to drugs or controlled substances, tobacco, alcohol, weapons or to be of a sexual nature.
Caps may not denote an affiliation with gangs or which advocate drug use, violence, illegal activity, hate, or disruptive behavior which is detrimental to the safety and welfare of others.
Caps may not be obscene, profane, vulgar or lewd.
Caps may not threaten the safety or welfare of others.
Only the flat, top area of the mortar board may be decorated. There may be nothing hanging down from any sides of the cap.
Decorations must be flat on the surface. 3-D creations are prohibited.
No blinking lights, nothing battery operated.
Make sure decorations will not come off the cap during the ceremony.
Caps may not contain anything that makes noise, no bells, whistles, horns, etc.
American Indian/Alaskan Native students may wear regalia and items of cultural significance. Ex. Eagle feather, cedar beads.
Caps will be reviewed and approved in advance of the ceremony through a process established by each school.
It is appropriate to put the following on your cap:
Thank a parent, grandparent, teacher, friend
Recognize the university you will be attending
Graduation year
The branch of the military you will be joining

Senior/Parent Graduation Planning meeting schedule.
All meetings will be in the Commons from 6:30-7:30pm at RHL. All seniors and their parents are invited to attend. RHL seniors and their parents do the planning for all graduation events! See you there!

November 6th -Jostens order forms will be handed out. Committees will meet.
November 20th -Turn in Josten orders, no money due. Committees will not meet.
January 29th-Committees meet
March 25th-Committees meet
April 29th-Committees meet; budgets due
May 20th- Committees meet

The Senior fee is due now. This fee covers graduation events but does not include the cost of the cap and gown. Go to the Fundraising tab at the top of this page and click on the link to pay. The service fee is optional. Choose "0" if you don't want to pay the service fee.
