Dear Families,
Dear Families,
September is almost done! I am so proud of all my students. They are working so hard and doing an incredible job! It is a joy to teach them!

I wanted to connect about GoMath! There is a lot of information below, hopefully most of it feels like a review. Please pay particular attention to the words in bold and do not hesitate to ask questions.

1) It is important that I see the GoMath! work is being done each month. Please turn them in to me after you finish each chapter or by the end of the third week of each month. You may email me sample pages, send them in with your student to class to put in the drop bucket, or drop them off on my desk in room 6. In order to be satisfactory in math, I must see proof of the work at being done at home.

2) Remember you do not need to do every math page. You just need your child to master the concept. I would recommend doing the pages labelled in the top right corner of the page as “Practice and Homework” for each lesson. If your child does the “Practice and Homework” pages well, then you can move onto the next lesson. As part of the daily math homework, your child should practice counting and math fluency facts (addition sums to 5 and then 10) as well. Also, be sure to do a couple of word problems every day and have your student show their work. This will be an essential skill in older grades.

THANK YOU for all the parents who have come and partnered with me in class! We require that you come in once a month to volunteer, but you are always welcome to come in more. Not only has it been incredibly helpful, it is an absolute privilege to work with you!
