Use this tool to reflect on your leadership capacities and track your development. There are eight sections, each representing one C in the student leadership framework. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Do you see changes over time? What is the impact of your leadership work at Bates on these eight capacities?
The Socially Responsible Leadership Scale (SRLS) is an instrument based on the Social Change Model (SCM) of leadership development. The SRLS is used for research, assessment, and education to measure and identify student capacity for socially-responsible leadership. SRLS is a simple web-based survey that takes only about 15 minutes to complete. Students are instantly scored on the individual, group, and community values of the SCM. Research and assessment in leadership development helps us all to improve our practice for students as we continue to learn which experiences have the most impact on our learning outcomes.
The MSL is an international research program focused on understanding the influences of higher education in shaping socially responsible leadership capacity & other leadership related outcomes (e.g., efficacy, cognitive skills, resiliency).
