New Teacher Induction Program

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) requires every district to develop and implement an approved Induction Plan. Completion of this plan is a state-mandated requirement for teachers seeking Level II certification.

Bellefonte Area School District’s current PDE-approved Induction Plan is valid from 2024–2027. This plan outlines how we support new educators during their first three years of teaching, including professional learning opportunities, mentoring, observations, and reflective practice.

To help bring this plan to life, we’ve also created an NTI Handbook, which provides clear expectations, timelines, portfolio guidance, and additional support tools for both new teachers and mentors.
