EDU 922: Google Tools for Educators

Course Learning Outcome #1

Design and develop digital age learning experiences using five different G Suite for Education applications.

This was my favorite course. I like that the activities focused on producing products that I could immediately use. Slide 12 lists what I found most useful. Collaboration with the other participants was fun and provided valuable tips and insights from a variety of grade levels. Slide 13 shows my main challenges. Finding enough time is always a challenge. We also had to meet online due to a snow day and my Google Certified Educator exam was interrupted by a fire drill.

Course Learning Outcome #2

Reflect on how G Suite for Education software suite can encourage students to develop ethical digital citizenship practices.

I choose Google+ for my second project. I found it to be a valuable source of information for GSuite updates as well as a great source for training resources such as videos, cheat sheets, and lesson ideas. As a social media platform, Google+ provides a way for me to model responsible use of social media for employees, parents, and students.

Course Learning Outcome #3

Explore the G Suite for Education tools and utilize these tools to empower teachers and students to streamline productivity and enhance their work and learning.

I had considered completing the Google Certified Educator training and exam for some time. This course provided the motivation for me to complete the training and the exam. Later during the school year, I completed the training and exam for Google Certified Educator Level 2.
