Several data visualization tools were used during this course including infographics, Twitter visualizations, and Gapminder which uses publicly available data to create interactive visualizations. The document below includes a lesson plan that I created for students to use Gapminder to find answers to questions related to accidental drowning deaths.
After exploring and evaluating several tools for creating infographics including easelly, Canva, and Piktochart, I created an infographic using easelly. I used data from PowerSchool and the Google admin console to identify the number of students, teachers, and devices. I also found the number of documents created with Google Docs and the number of teacher posts to Google Classroom.
For my final project for the course, I created resources and presentation slides to use for a professional learning session with teachers in my district. The slides provide examples of how infographics can be used in the classroom and links to tutorials and videos showing how to create infographics using Google Drawing.
