Life Insurance and AD&D

Company Provided Coverage

Team members receive the greater of 1 times salary, or $50,000, as a company provided benefit. If your salary is less than $50,000 you will receive $50,000 as your life insurance coverage. If your salary is more than $50,000 you will receive that amount as your life insurance coverage.

It is critical that all team members designate a beneficiary for the life insurance via the ADP enrollment system. If a beneficiary is not on file at the time of passing, The Hartford will pay out the life insurance according to your state's Next of Kin rules. Please note that having a will outside of ACBL does not apply to this benefit.

Voluntary Life Insurance

Team members can enroll in additional life insurance for themselves and their family via the ADP enrollment system. Please note that Spouse Life Insurance is limited to 50% of the combined Company Provided Employee Basic Life Insurance and any additional life insurance the employee elects for themselves.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment

Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is different from traditional life insurance in two key ways:

AD&D can pay the insured for a serious accidental injury that can result in loss of limb (hand, foot, eye, etc).
AD&D can also pay when there is loss of life, but only if the cause is ruled an accident.
