Science Fair 2020

Introduction to Science Fair

Here you'll find all of your science fair resources in one place, including deadlines and all of the handouts that I'll share with you. All documents will also be on google classroom!

All hand-written deadlines (picture in Google Classroom AND science fair notebook) and typed deadlines must be submitted by the end of HALF Time (11:45 AM).

Good luck and please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!

The deadline calendar can be found at the bottom of this page.

The science fair project consists of five parts:

1. Experiment

2. Written Report

3. Display Board

4. Oral Presentation

5. Experimental Notebook

  • The science fair project is more than designing a cool experiment and collecting data. Before you can do a cool experiment, you must do some research!
  • In order to be successful, you must follow the timeline. You will fall behind quickly if you do not complete your work on time.
  • The most important step of the research process is the first one: choosing your topic. For your science fair project, you must pick your own topic. This is wonderful for some students and difficult for others. If choosing your own topic is a problem, see Ms. H for help!

Topics that are covered on this website include:

  • Science Lab Notebook
  • Topic selection and Resources
  • MLA Formatting
  • RSI Mentors
  • Experimental Description and Further Research
  • Introduction/Background Research
  • Materials and Methods
  • Data Collection, Graphs and Tables
  • Results
  • Conclusion and Abstract
  • Final Copy of Written Report
  • Display Board and Oral Presentation
