Physical Description & Adaptations

A fully grown Pommba will grow to a height of 120cm and they can weigh up to 35kg for the Males and 30 for the females. 

The Pommba has spikes on top of its head that allow it to protect itself from larger predators Like the Kappa, which is a seal like creature that hunts it. It also uses these spikes to hunt prey By injecting a toxic poison that stuns them. 

The Pommba has great eyesight as its medium sized eyes help it to sight prey when it glides Off the surrounding cliff tops. It has a kiwi type beak that allows it to forage and dig for food. The beak is strong enough to break through ice as it will also hunt small fish. 

It's wings are unique as it allows the Poomba to glide from the cliff tops to both escape Predators and sight foor from the sky. The Poomba's wings aren't strong so it can't actually fly From the ground it has to climb the surrounding cliffs and glides. 

It has short thick white and spotted black fur that allow it to survive in the harsh conditions that exist in our habitat. The colour of their fur also allow them to camoflauge exceptionally Well when on the ice but also on the rugged cliffs of Planet X. 

It has claws on both its feet and webbed fingers that allow it to climb and grip onto predators. The Poombas spine and tail have poisoning throughout it and anything that touches the spine Is stunned for one minute and can't move. 

Habitat

The temperature of our habitat ranges from 16 to -90 which our animal is well adjusted to. Where you will find the Poomba on Planet X the temperature stays at roughly -40 in winter and up to 0 degree in the summer. It will shed some of it's fur in summer. 

The particular part of Planet X that you will find the Pommba is around cliffs and rocky areas. It also hunts on the ice and in freshwater streams and lakes. 

Diet & Nutrition

The Pommba feeds off a range of different foods that exist within Planet X. It feeds off small Fish that it uses its beak to catch and breaks up the ice when it needs to in those cold winter Months. During summer it uses its beak to forage for insects and worms on land. It burns up A lot of extra energy when feeding so uses the blue magma for extra oxygen when it gets Tired. 

Reproduction

The Pommba is bird so it needs to find a mate and lay an egg, there is no where safe to lay an Egg because of Predators, So the male will go to find a safe place for the female to  lay an egg If the male finds a safe place Where are they going to lay an egg so the female is going to  dig A hole in the ice like a Bowl to lay an egg so its more safe for the egg but cozy for the female. if The male don't find a Safe place will that is the egg will crack and the baby might die  so its a 50/50?. 

Interesting Facts and Summary

This bird is the only bird with wing and two arms on the side. Pommba  can not fly it but can float in the air. It has to climb the cliffs to run or hunt. Did you know that if the Pommba is out of breath it goes to the blue magma block to get air?
