Even though we are only two to three weeks into school, senior Caroline Kammerer knows what her plans for after high school are.
Kammerer has recently gotten into journalism after coming to Badin, and she knew that was what she wanted to do as her career in life.
“I became interested in journalism after first taking the class my sophomore year. I never really thought about that career path much but after writing for the Badin Banner and learning more about potential career opportunities, I knew that this is what I wanted to do,” Kammerer said.
Kammerer knew that her options were wide with this career. She loved how she could go into multiple types of journalism.
“What draws me to journalism is the variety of things I could do in that career path. It could be something more news focused, or something media and entertainment focused,” Kammerer said.
Kammerer wants to make this her career and she even mentioned that she would be willing to move to the big cities to make her journalism dream come true.
“I want to live in a big city like LA or New York because I want to work for a large news station or media outlet,” Kammerer said. “Where I've wanted to live later on in life has always depended on what I wanted to do for a career. With journalism, I feel like living in a big city would help me accomplish my goals.”
If Kammerer is able to make this her career, she is going to further her education in journalism after high school.
“I am planning on continuing my love for journalism in college. I want to major in broadcast journalism," she said.
